Stacking and de-stacking machines are well suited for the automatic handling of long goods. They are always preferably used when long objects are moved through the plant in cassettes or racks for long goods, when they are placed in store, or when they are being prepared for dispatch.
Automatic stacking and de-stacking systems result in substantial cost savings. They speed up the throughput and largely prevent damage during transport. With equipment design modifications, almost any special handling problem can be solved satisfactorily.
During operations the logistical objectives differ from case to case. With modified designs H+H can respond flexibly to the individual wishes of its customers, for example with …
- Automatic stacking machines for producing hexagonal bundles from round material. Round material (bars, tubes) is usually delivered packed in hexagonal bundles. With these machines the work step of stacking is carried out fully automatically.
- Automatic stacking/de-stacking units for load carriers of varying size. When for operational reasons different rack types are in use, with such a unit they can be filled or emptied in any desired sequence.
Stackers and de-stackers by H+H have proved their worth above all where conventional designs cannot be used.
With flexible control systems additional functions can be integrated in the equipment. For example, several work stations can be served in any desired sequence, or if necessary the goods can be sorted in accordance with various criteria.

Stacker for different container sizes
When Gerhardi Alutechnik installed a second extrusion line with 33 MN extrusion load, H+H was made responsible for the automation of the material flow. The project included a fully automatic section stacking machine which – in any desired sequence – serves two packing positions and can also work with two different rack sizes.
